About The Manufacturer
Over 100 years of Kolbenschmidt and Pierburg that does not just mean over 100 years as an automotive company, but also over 100 years of business activity against a backdrop of constantly changing political, social and above all technical conditions. With this in mind, Motorservice is launching a new series with a small historical review of the history of our premium brands. Rheinmetall Automotive (formerly KSPG and Kolbenschmidt Pierburg) is the Automotive sector of the parent group Rheinmetall. The company emerged in 1997 through the merger of KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH, Neckarsulm, and Pierburg GmbH, Neuss. Rheinmetall Automotive ranks among the 100 biggest auto industry suppliers worldwide and is an important partner to the industry for such products as exhaust gas recirculation systems, secondary-air systems, coolant pumps, and pistons for car gasoline engines and as well as for the commercial vehicle sector.
